An impressive design of a ceiling made only with chopsticks / Takeshi Sano

At present there are innumerable design and architecture solutions that are made with materials of the most diverse types. In fact, one of the trends in contemporary architecture is one that makes use of “unconventional” materials and uses objects such as sheets of paper, cardboard, plastic and glass bottles, recycled wood and anything else that allows ideas to be captured – strange as they may seem – an architect has in mind.

An interesting example of the use of “unconventional” materials in interior design is the ceiling hanging from the sophisticated Tsujita restaurant, located in the cosmopolitan city of Los Angeles, in the United States of America.

Inspired by the Japanese temple of Izumo Taisha, the Japanese artist Takeshi Sano has created this spectacular ceiling, created with a single material: wooden chopsticks, a characteristic element of Japanese cuisine.

The more than 30,000 toothpicks of different lengths are combined together to create a ceiling like a sky full of clouds, which envelops the diner in a warm and hyper-realistic atmosphere.
